Made to make robots have been adapted to make artificial limbs. Theses devices are being changed to make them look more real by adding temper foam for the soft look and feel of skin this also to act as cartilage to prevent friction between the artificial limb and the skin its attached to. These are used by people across the globe for example soldiers who lost there limbs in a war or people who are born without a limb.
Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)
With the work of NASA, Dr. Michael DeBakey, Dr. George Noon, and MicroMed Technology Inc. they have made a device that saves the lives of people waiting for heart transplants the heart pump. Its also tiny weighs around only 4 ounces and measures only 1 by 3 inches it can also run up to 8 hours on battery power so the person who has it can do other activities./
Gait Analysis system-
The Gait Analysis system is a device that allows people recovering from traumas such as spinal cord or brain to walk easier. It works by supporting there weight in a cradle like system around the pelvis area like what NASA uses to support rockets for there flights into space
Automatic insulin pump
This device was based off of NASA s used in satellite components. It puts insulin into the persons body at a reprogrammed rate so the wearer doesn't have to manually do so multiple times a day this can save time and the person if they forgot to inject insulin.
